MIN SUBS AT GAMES Print

The Canberra Times had it absolutely correct in their short Sunday report.

City was ruthless in front of goal.

Last Saturdays results for the club were fantastic.

Having watched all four grades in a very long day,  everyone is to be congratulated.

I haven’t seen such passion and determination for a while in all grades.

The U16 kicked off the day in marvellous fashion, having been locked at 1-1 at the break,

they displayed an inspiring 20 minutes of free flowing attacking football from the beginning of the second half

to finally win 5-1. Is this the same team? Whatever you’re saying to them at half time Fonz keep doing it.

When the U18’s went behind 0-1 the lads looked a little shaky but after the equalizer it was all City and only

A gutsy classy save from the Tuggers keeper saved a point for them. A great fight and one of the best U18

Games this season.

In the pathways guts and determination were also to the for’.

Mr. Potential, Adam Johnson, finally showed us the skill he is capable of with a superb free kick that turned

a good metre and dipped into the net. Their  keeper never had a chance.

Can he do the same for 90 minutes? I’m happy for him to do it for 45.

The fighting spirit lasted all game and  a well deserved and crucial 3 points.

And what can we say about the first team effort?

Tempo, passing, strength, urgency, commitment, a hunger for the goal all was too overwhelming for a Tuggers side

that was making a come back after some good results.

I think everyone will be looking forward to the trip to Cooma.

with assistance from local sponsors Macdonald's a new feature at Canberra City's games will be the presence of the Mini Subs.

These are the Gungahlin Junior Football Club players who act as ball boys/girls for City's Premier League matches.

Michael and Missy Moscaritolo model the new mini subs uniforms at the recent City v monaro match.
